Larry is getting us exposure beyond our wildest dreams!
A CHANGE: Look for Paddle With Purpose stories on SATURDAY’s NBC nightly news and SATURDAY’s Today show on NBC (starts @ 7am?). CBS came a knocking this evening too and they are running a story tonight @ 11pm and maybe tomorrow morning – Channel 9 in L.A. might run something in the morning as well. Last but not least – CNN Anderson 360 has shown clips and it may be mentioned on other shows as well as their website. Phew….
Doors are opening and Breast Cancer awareness/prevention/education is being heard – as well as the plight of the Minke Whale 🙂
We decided to raise our fundraising target because we know it can be done – every dollar makes a difference! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This is truly amazing and inspirational. Your purpose is so important, especially when they just started recommending that women wait longer to begin getting mammograms. My mother, grandmother, and great aunt all had/survived breast cancer. Why in the world would someone like me, at 36, not want to have a mammogram? Over half of the female population has fibrocystic breast disease, where cystic fiber or fluid-filled lumps come and go in one or both breasts. While scary when young, I learned two things from having this disease: 1) Get checked early and often, you never know what is hiding in there, 2) You can’t tell a cystic lump from a cancer lump, so get checked every year.
While walking in for my yearly mammogram this year in Burbank, the doctor questioned me as to why I was there at my age. REALLY? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Yes, the ignorance is even right there in our exam rooms.
Thank you for all you do!
My best,
Tara

I think god really was with you. Sometimes, even as small as they seem, miracles and god seem to work hand in hand. Good luck in your future endeavors. I can see that you definatly take breast cancer to heart. My oldest son has diabetes, type 1. Discoverd it when he was 26, Maybe you can raise some funds for that cause too. But leave me an address where I can donate 10.00 to your good cause. Are you sure Larry wasn’t your guardian angel? Way to go girl!!!

Hola from Costa Rica ~
You and Larry are an amazing inspiration! We are very touched by your quest and would like to invite you to Costa Rica through our company Desafío Adventure Company http://www.desafiocostarica.com. We are just starting to get people interested in SUP down here and having you here would be a great way to get more exposure for SUP and breast cancer awareness, as well, if you’re interested!
My husband Suresh (the owner of Desafío — we call him the GangstaKayaker) is from S. California and paddled a sea kayak from Long Beach to Catalina Island many years ago (and has mentioned how scary THAT was) and can’t imagine what an incredible feat to SUP 40 miles to Dana Pt!
So, if you’d like to come down once your fame subsides a little, please let us know. We’d love for you to do some SUP workshops/training on our lake (Lake Arenal) and down on the Pacific beaches of Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo — we’ll provide room and board and a little stipend for the teaching and get more press for you here. It’ll be fun!
We’d love to have you!! Please write us.

It costs 15,000 just to bring in one sea mammal from the beach for medical attention! They need everyone’s help to keep Orange County / Laguna Beach a happy place for the seals and sea lions and others!
